Maximilian Nadel is the local cobbler. He is not very wealthy and makes his living mending shoes for the local citizens. However, most of the wealthy people travel great distances to purchase their shoes from more qualified cobblers, leaving Maximilian in hard times. It is often difficult for him to find work, and when he does, he is so busy managing his farm and his other affairs, that it takes him quite along time to finish the shoes. He has been making more money as a result of this new development, and his business has been much more successful as of late. Will he ever discover the true source of his good fortune? What would happen if he did, and how long will it last?
